The Peak District Railway (P.D.R.) in Whaley Bridge in the Peak District.

This layout is set in a small town called Whaley Bridge. The line does have some history since a railway line was in place to move freight around the Peak District; this consisted of several inclines one of which is modelled on the layout.

The railway has been lost to history but in this layout it has been restored to it's former glory and is served by Mallard. It is run by a group of railway enthusiasts and boasts a busy timetable but still keeps to history and has an area to deal with freight plus a working slate mine.

The layout has a slate mine but another slate mine is positioned a few miles away. The slate from the slate mine comes by narrow gauge until it reaches another layout called The Tramway. The slate is then transferred to standard gauge. The two layouts are completely separate apart from a single piece of track.
